It's been a couple of weeks ago, but Cass and I went to the Jack Johnson concert at the USANA Ampetheatre on Monday August 18th. It was my Father's Day present to myself and it was amazing. I've been a Jack fan for a long time now and this was the first time I have ever seen him live. It was such a good show, he is so laid back and chill. He just walks out on stage and starts playing, no lasers or fireworks or big fuss. He played all of the good stuff from the new album (except for Angel which we were bummed about) and he played a bunch of his classics like Flake, Bubble Toes, Taylor, Breakdown, ect...
We got a Jack music book a while back and Cass has been learning the Piano parts while I play the guitar and it was fun watching them play live and seeing it all together, but the highlight of the night was the Encore. Jack came back out and played three or four songs by himself and just him on the Acoustic Guitar was some of the best music I have ever heard.
We left Scout with our friends the Thue's and she did really well for being away from her Mom and Dad. Thanks Debbie and Ron! We really appreciate you watching her so we could go.
I was trying so hard to keep track of the set list so that I would be able to reproduce it here, but I lost track and I figured I would be able to find it online somewhere, but haven't been able to until now so here is what I remember. They are in order as far as I remember. In honor of the show you'll notice that the Blog Soundtrack is a recreation of the set list. It was a lot better live, but this way you can hear all of the songs we heard. Enjoy!
