Scouts been getting so big. I measured her yesterday and she came in at an unofficial 21 inches long. She's such a good kid, at least that's what we think, we don't really have anyone to compare her too, but she doesn't cry much at all and she seems like a healthy happy kid. She's starting to make some noises and she's getting to where she can make facial expressions, though I'm not sure if they are directly related to what she is looking at. Cass and I try to talk to her, even baby talk and she doesn't seem to be amused, but then we will just be sitting there and she'll get a little grin. We just figure that Cael must be talking to her.
She does seem to be able to focus a bit more on things, she likes looking at her mom, the lights, the Olympics on TV, and she loves our headboard, she ust focuses on it whenever Cass or I will hold her in our room and if you ry and get in the way she will try to move her head to look past you and if you still try to get her attention she let's you know that she isn't happy.
I think she might be getting a bit spoiled. She has been awake a lot more lately and before she would be content just laying on her back looking at everything around her, but lately she will get fussy unless Cass or I pick her up and hold her. She also doesn't seem to like it if you hold her and sit down. She will frown and pretend that she is going to cry but when we get up and walk around she is happy again, I think she just likes being closer to the celing. She does like to be moving though. She loves riding in her stoller and Cass has taken her on walks pretty much every morning since we brought her home. She loves her stroller. It's a smoothe ride for her and Cass can't wait until she can take her running. In fact we took it for a test run last night. Cass ran with Scout and I rode the bike. Cass wasn't sure if she should start exercising yet, but she's been really healthy and felt really good since Scout got here. Plus I was watching the Olympics and saw that 41 year old swimmer lady was swimming the day she gave birth so I think Cass will be fine. I told her that I was going to train her and she can make it to the 2012 Olympics in London. We're not quite sure in what event yet, but we are leaning toward Rythmic Gymnastics. Cass refuses to belive that is a sport though and thinks it's hillarious that you can win a Gold Medal in baton twirling. You've got to be kidding me that they are getting rid of Baseball and Softball, but they have baton twirling.
Scout seems to be enjoying her first month on earth and we're happy to have her here. She's an amazing kid and makes us so happy. Here are some pictures that I've been meaning to get posted for that last little while.
