Bun In The Oven!

I guess I might as well start my backlog of recent events with the most significant event of the year so far. In December, just before Christmas we found out that Cassidy was expecting and we have been so excited ever since, and are looking forward to becoming parents again. It has been an eventful pregnancy so far as we've tried to find out what had happened with Cael and what the chances are that something like that could happen again. It started with Cassidy going to the Doctor quite a bit early on in the pregnancy and meeting with high risk specialists as well. We had a few ultrasounds and in February found out that we are having a baby girl. They diagnosed Cassidy with having an "incompetent cervix" and she had surgery to help keep the baby in so that she can carry the baby full term and other than the first few days after the operation she has been doing really well.
We've just been trying to get through it one week at a time and were looking at twenty four weeks and a day as a big milestone. That is when Cael was born and the Doctors told us that if she had come a week later she would have had a much better chance of making it. So in April Cassidy made it to the twenty five week mark and we all felt a bit releived. As the weeks pass and she has her appointments and the Doctor tells her that everything is fine we get more and more excited. We didn't want to prepare too much because we thought we would jinx it, but as the weeks go by we realize more and more that this is actually going to happen.
Cassidy is getting bigger and bigger and the baby is kicking and moving all over the place. She's already full of energy and has Cassidy jumping around from the kicks and we've decided to name her Scout. She should be here early in August and we can't wait.
