Halloween!

Holiday's are always fun at our house. I have the most creative wife in the world, who loves to decorate, entertain and have fun. Which I love because she doesn't laugh or make fun of me when I still act like a kid and want to dress up for Halloween or set my choo-choo train up at Christmas. Another thing that Cassidy loves is having people over for dinner. This Halloween was no different, so we got dressed up,(we went with a Toy Story theme this year, I was Woody and Cassidy was my girlfriend Bo-Peep) decorated the house and had a dinner party. We've done this for the past couple of years now and it's turning into a nice little tradition. She spent the day cooking and here is the menu she came up with:

Bloody Brains - Spaghetti
Maggots - Rice
Witch's Fingers - Bread sticks
Mummy Fetus - Croissant-Wrapped Hot Dogs

and don't forget desert:

Eyeball Cupcakes and Brain Cake

So we had some friends over and we turned our house into a cave with candles and spider webs everywhere and it was a lot of fun. After dinner we played a game that Cassidy played growing up. It was hilarious, here's how it works:

Two players sit across from each other, each has a carrot, a peeler, a candle, and a box of matches. As soon as the game starts, each player lights their candle and starts peeling their carrot. The object of the game is to eat your carrot and the first person to do it wins. The thing is, you can only bite your carrot if it is peeled and you can only peel if your candle is lit. You can blow out the other players candle but you can only do that if your own candle is lit.

It may not sound like much but, just imagine someone with a mouthful of chewed up carrot trying to blow out a candle and right behind that candle is the other person. Let's just say that we are still picking out carrot chunks from out of our carpet and off our walls. It was a lot of fun though. Everyone had a good time and really got into it dressing up. It's too bad that Halloween is only once a year.

Sea World!

I finally made it. Of all of the times I have visited San Diego, which really hasn't been that many, I finally went to Sea World. It was AWESOME! I loved it. It was like going to Disneyland for the first time. You've heard about it and you see commercials for it but it is still better than you thought it would be. Cassidy kept making fun of me because she had been there hundreds of times and had seen the shows, (aparently they are the same as they were 10 years ago when she was 12) but I didn't care, they were the coolest things I'd ever seen. We saw Shamu of course, I didn't know there were 4 of them, and we also saw dolphins, walruses, polar bears, penguins, some crazy hungry seals, and we even got to pet some stingrays. I want to have pet's when I get older and Cass keeps trying to slam the door on my dream of having a Buffalo, but now I want a killer whale too.

Our Weekend in San Diego

Well, the last post that I had gotten on here was Cassidy's Birthday back in September. So much has happened since then and hopefully it doesn't take me too long to catch up. Just after Cassidy's Birthday we took a much needed vacation. it was a tough time for both Cass and I as the first weekend in October was when little Cael was originally due. We both decided that it would be good for both of us to just get away. We didn't want to be stuck in Utah Valley with pregnant women reminders everywhere you looked, it's funny but it seems that you just notice things like that more now. Everywhere you go, the grocery store, the movies, school, work, it seems that 90% of the women you see all are expecting and depending on what kind of day you are having it can be pretty rough. We thought it would be best to get away and just spend some time together and we figured what better place to spend Conference weekend and celebrate Cael's due date than with Cael herself.
We left Friday after work and didn't tell Cassidy's family that we were coming down. Even on our way we weren't quite sure what we were going to do for the weekend. We didn't have any set plans, no one knew we were coming and we even debated on if it was a good idea or not to make the trip. We arrived in Cedar City late Friday night and visited with my parents, we went to bed and set the alarm for early the next morning but when it went off and we were both still tired, we wondered for about a half an hour if we should just stay in Cedar for the weekend. We eventually decided on going and Cassidy drove while I slept. I remember waking up after what only seemed like a little while only to find out that we were about an hour past Vegas. The rest of the drive went smoothly and we pulled into San Diego around noon. We showed up at Cass's parents house ready to surprise them and found out that only Taylor, Cassidy's little brother was home. So we went to the beach and Roberto's (My favorite Mexican place) and got back home later in the afternoon to the surprise of everyone.
It was great to be able to spend time with all of Cassidy's family there and we had a lot of fun just relaxing and being with family. It was General Conference that weekend so we were able to listen to the talks at home and really be grateful for all of our blessings. We were able to go to the Temple and hang out on Sunday night and I had Monday and Tuesday off from work so we wanted to do something fun. We went to Sea World on Monday, I had never been before and I loved it. We were able to spend some time with Cael also which was the highlight of the trip. We stopped by the cemetary on Monday morning before we went to Sea World and then on Tuesday, we took her some flowers. It was a great weekend and a lot of fun. It was good for both Cassidy and I to spend that time with each other and remember the time we had with Cael.

Long Time No Post!

It seems like it's been forever since I posted anything here. It's funny how it seems like life is so boring and you just get in the same routine over and over and there is nothing interesting or worthwhile going on in your life, then all of a sudden everything happens at once. Three or Four big events will happen and it doesn't seem like you can keep up with anything. That's what's been going on with Cassidy and I lately. We've been in the same routine of just going to work and not having a lot of time so it hasn't seemed like much has been happening with us, but as I think back we've actually been pretty busy lately. I will try my best to remember some of our more recent adventures and get them on here.
